Five people have escaped injury after a light aircraft crash landed at Southend Airport. Emergency services, including nine fire crews and around 40 firefighters, were called out just before 1.15pm today (Friday, September 29).  However, it was dealt with by the Airport's fire crew, assisted by one other fire crew.
